The 65-year-old, renowned for his successful stints with Schalke and RB Leipzig in German football, was reportedly Bayern’s top pick to replace departing manager Thomas Tuchel.

Currently gearing up to guide Austria in Euro 2024, the former Manchester United coach stated, “I am fully committed to leading the Austrian team. I derive great pleasure from this role and am steadfast in our pursuit of success on the path we’ve chosen.”

He clarified, “This decision isn’t a snub to FC Bayern; rather, it’s a choice for my team and our shared objectives. Our primary focus is on the European Championship, and we’re determined to achieve the utmost success possible.”
