88 Job Vacancies Open at UDSM – University of Dar es Salaam
The University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM), Tanzania’s oldest public teaching and research university, is inviting qualified Tanzanian applicants to apply for 88 open academic positions. These positions include roles such as Assistant Lecturers and Tutorial Assistants in various disciplines. UDSM offers a range of degree programs, including bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels, along with professional development programs.
The open positions span multiple academic fields, including Mechanical Engineering, Beekeeping Science, Agricultural and Livestock Economics, Food Science, and Architecture. Specific qualifications vary by role, but most positions require at least a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA of 3.8, and in many cases, a master’s degree or higher is needed. Some roles, such as those in engineering, seek candidates with practical experience and familiarity with industry-standard tools and software.
Assistant Lecturer roles demand higher qualifications, typically a master’s degree in relevant fields, while Tutorial Assistants focus on understudying senior staff members and supporting undergraduate teaching and research activities. These roles are spread across diverse academic departments like Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture, and Agricultural Sciences.
In addition to specific qualifications, all applicants must meet general requirements, including possessing a National Identification number from the National Identification Authority (NIDA) and ensuring that any foreign educational qualifications are verified by relevant authorities like the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) and the National Examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA).
For the application process, applicants currently employed in the public sector are required to submit their applications through their employers, and those with terminated public service employment are not eligible to apply. All applications must be submitted via the official government Recruitment Portal.
The deadline for submitting applications is 22 September 2024. Interested individuals should ensure that all relevant documentation and verification processes are completed before this date to be considered for the various positions available at UDSM.
