Some citizens of Nigeria have looted food items from a government-owned store.

Some residents of the Nigerian capital, Abuja, on Sunday looted food stored in a warehouse belonging to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).

Josephine Adeh, an official of the Federal Capital Territory, confirmed the incident to the private newspaper Punch, stating that the situation has been brought under control.

The warehouse located in Karimo in Phase 3 of the Federal Capital Territory was looted on Sunday morning. Police officers dispatched to the warehouse managed to disperse the crowd, Adeh said. However, she did not disclose if any arrests were made.
