You are advised that Drivers Licencing Testing Centres offer Drivers Licencing-related services such as Bookings for Learners and Drivers Tests as well as Testing, Renewal of Drivers Licences, Applications for and Renewals of PrDPs, and Collection of Drivers Licence Cards. They do not offer Motor Vehicle Licencing services unless otherwise stated:
KZN Department of Transport Drivers Licence Testing Centres And Motor Licencing Bureaux In July 2023, Documents that are required for the processing of driver’s licence renewal applications in terms of the National Road Traffic Act, Act 93 of 1996 are:
• Identity Document/Smart Card and a copy thereof;
• 2X ID-sized Black and White or Colour Photographs;
• R250 for issue of Drivers Licence;
• R90 for temporary Drivers Licence and 1X additional ID-sized Black and White or Colour Photograph.
The following should be noted regarding Proof of Residence:
• Must not be older than 3 months;
• Must clearly state the physical address, e.g. a bank statement, store account, etc.
• If the applicant is residing with parents, a letter by the parent accompanied with the proof of residence is required;
An eye test certificate from an optometrist is preferred and must not be older than 3 months.
EMPANGENI DLTC will be open on the weekends of 01-02 and 22-23 July 2023 from 07h00 – 13h00 for the following services:
• Renewal of Drivers Licences;
• Application and Issue of PrDPs;
• Booking of Learners and Drivers Licences;
• Collection of Drivers Licences;
• Learners Licence and Driver’s Licence (Code A) Tests.
MKONDENI DLTC have advised that they will not be opening on any weekends until further notice.
NEWCASTLE DLTC have advised that they will not be opening on any weekends in July 2023.

• Renewal of Driver’s Licences;
• Application and Issue of PrDPs;
• Collection of Driver’s Licence Cards.
The public are encouraged to bring an eye test certificate to facilitate the process.
ROSSBURGH DLTC will be open on weekends, , 01-02, 08-09, 15-16, 22-23, & 29-30 July 2023 from 07h30 – 13h30 offering the following services:

• Collection of Driver’s Licence Cards;
There will be no bookings of Learner’s and Driver’s Licence Tests on weekends.

UMBILO MOTOR LICENCING BUREAU will be open from 08h00 – 13h00 to the general public on Saturday’s, 01, 08, 15, 22 and 29 July 2023 providing all motor licencing services, and on Sunday’s 02, 09, 16, 23 and 30 July 2023 for dealers only.
The following MUNICIPALLY-RUN Driver’s Licence Testing Centres are open on weekends as follows:
KWADUKUZA DLTC & MOTOR LICENCING will be open on Saturdays, 08 and 22 July 2023 from 07h00 – 13h00 for all driver’s licence and motor vehicle licence transactions.
BALLITO MOTOR LICENCING BUREAU will be open on Saturdays, 15 and 29 July 2023 from 08h00 – 13h30 for the renewal of motor vehicle licence discs only.
RAY NKONYENI (PORT SHEPSTONE) DLTC will be operating on all Saturdays in July, i.e. 01, 08, 15, 22 and 29 July 2023 from 08h00 – 12h00, however, consideration to loadshedding will be a huge factor and the public is urged to monitor the schedule released by Eskom.
All services relating to the DLTC functions except for the testing of applicants for driving licences will be offered.
A total of 60 numbers will be issued for the day but will be dependent on the continuous availability of the system, network and power supply. Special provisions are in place for applicants with physical challenges and those who are frail.
