HKMU Hubert Kairuki Memorial University Courses Offered 2022/2023: Hubert Kairuki Memorial University (HKMU) was established in 1997 as Mikocheni International University of Health Sciences (MIUHS), but was subsequently renamed Mikocheni International University (MIU) by the Kairuki Health and Education Network (KHEN). Following the unexpected death of its founder, the late Prof. Hubert C.M. Kairuki, in February 1999, the name was changed once more to Hubert Kairuki Memorial University (HKMU).

After receiving a charter from the president of the United Republic of Tanzania in 2010, HKMU is recognized as an institution of higher learning in Tanzania. Through the Tanzanian Commission for Universities, the University is acknowledged by the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania (TCU).

The Kairuki Health and Education Network (KHEN), which includes Kairuki Hospital (formerly known as Mission Mikocheni Hospital) and Kairuki School of Nursing, is a non-profit organization that includes HKMU (KSN). The vision of HKMU is to become a model private University in Tanzania and Africa; one that provides the highest quality education, conducts cutting-edge research, and provides exemplary service to society.

The mode of application for all Hubert Kairuki Memorial University Courses Offered

Applicants for all HKMU programs must apply directly to the university using an online application portal at www.hkmu.ac.tz, with a non-refundable application cost of TZS 50,000 or USD 50. (for international students).

Applications must reach the University not later than 31st October of every year. New students will be admitted in November of every year. Students seeking for a sponsorship from the Government are advised to send a copy of their application to the Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Women, Children and Elderly and Children.

  7. Master of Medicine (MMed) programme will last for a minimum of 3 calendar years and a
  8. maximum of 6 calendar years, with 4 weeks’ vacation per year.
  9. Master of Science in Public Health (MScPH) will last for a minimum of 18 months and a
  10. maximum of 2 calendar years, with 4-week vacation per year.
