Wakulima Tea Company Ltd, is a joint venture between Tanzania Tea packers (TATEPA) AND Rungwe Small Holders Tea Growers Association (RSTGA – UMOJA).

Wakulima Tea Company Ltd; the Largest Smallholder Tea Company in Tanzania; supporting over 12000
Smallholder farmers and with 2 factories one in Tukuyu-Rungwe, and the second one is in Mwakaleli• Busokelo District, re advertised 12 Job Vacancies to meet the qualified candidates.

POSTS ARE:

1. ELECTRICIAN (2-POSTS) •

JOB DESCRIPTION – ELECTRICIAN

  • To execute electrical maintenance works in compliance with health and safety at workplace/factory, ISO 22000:2005, environment, HACCP, Rainforest Alliance, etc.
  • Install, maintain and enhance electrical systems and components including fuses, light and wiring
  • Troubleshooting problems and make timely repairs.
  • Inspect, test and diagnose issues with electrical systems and components. Calibrate equipment’s to provided specifications.
  • Complete required documentation of repairs and service information
  • Perform all work in a manner that meets and follows electrical code and standard. Perform other duties as may be assigned by Company Engineer/COO/OD.
  • Able to read Y-D starter wiring diagrams, install and diagnose the same.
  • Able to read main busbar panel diagrams, changeover and PFC banks; install and diagnose the same.
  • Have good knowledge of operation and maintenance of electricity generating sets of capacity up to 500 Kva capacity.
  • Knowledge of steam boiler wiring including safety features
  • Must have knowledge of industrial, office and residential wiring and installations.
  • Able to work under minimum supervision and attend to breakdowns swiftly and under pressure.
  • Will be required to work on shift basis.

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Holder of secondary education examination certificate plus Trade Test Level II or Level III in Electrical
  • Installation or equivalent qualification from recognized training institution.
  • Work experience of minimum 3 years in a Tea/Sugar/Food/Beverages Processing Factory will be an added advantage.

2. MECHANICAL ARTISAN (FITTER AND TURNER 6-POSTS)

JOB DESCRIPTION –FITTER/TURNER

  • To execute mechanical maintenance work in compliance with health and safety at workplace/factory, ISO 22000:2005, environment, HACCP, Rainforest Alliance, etc.
  • Repairing, maintaining and overhauling machinery in a Tea Factory.
  • Performing regular maintenance on machinery, diagnosing and repairing any faults. Ability to use Lathe
  • Machines, including CTC Rollers sharpening Machines.
  • Assembling and installation of new machinery.
  • To report any impending faults and keep records of breakdowns and repairs.
  • Fabrication and modification of spares and machinery.
  • Perform any other duties which may be assigned by Management.
  • Able to work under minimum supervision and attend to breakdowns swiftly and under pressure.
  • Will be required to work on shift basis.

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Holder of secondary education examination certificate plus Trade Test Level II or Level III
  • FITTER/TURNER or equivalent qualification from recognized training institution.
  • Work experience of minimum 3 years in a Tea/Sugar/Food/Beverages Processing Factory will be an added advantage.

3. WELDER (1-POST)

JOB DESCRIPTION – WELDER

  • To execute welding and related works in compliance with health and safety at work place/factory, ISO 22000:2005, environment, HACCP, Rainforest Alliance, etc.
  • Repairing factory machinery using oxy-acetylene gas and arc welding equipment and
    technologies.
  • Measuring and cutting materials to specifications.
  • Welding materials using the correct tools/accessories.
  • Able to fabricate/assemble metal structures.
  • Keep records and inventory of tools and consumables.
  • To identify type of welding and rods required to join the metal.
  • Ability to work day and night shifts.
  • Checking assembled metal parts for accuracy and fit using precise measuring tool.
  • Erecting and assembling machines onsite.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by his leader.
  • Fabrication and modification of spares and machinery.
  • Perform any other duties which may be assigned by Management.
  • Able to work under minimum supervision and attend to breakdowns swiftly and under pressure.

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Holder of secondary education examination certificate plus Trade Test Level II or Level Ill
    WELDING & FAB RICATION or equivalent qualification from recognized training institution.
  • Work experience of minimum 3 years in a Tea/Sugar/Food/Beverages Processing Factory will an added advantage.
  • Work experience with pressure vessels e.g steam boilers and steam piping will be an added advantage.

JOB POST: MOTOR REWINDER (1 POST)

JOB SUMMARY

  • Performs all types of rewinds on AC motors, performs electrical troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and field installation of ac electric motors and other electrical devices as required.

JOB DESCRIPTION.

  • Rewind electric motors, stators and armatures
  • Highly skill with testing equipment example MEGGER OHM METER AND CLAMP METER
  • Inspect equipment and parts for damage, diagnose possible reason(s) for failure
  • Provide recommendations to improve reliability of equipment
  • Maintain quality standard for repaired motors
  • Observe and adhere to IEEE industrial repair safety procedures
  • Providing complete infonnation in report as required
  • Proficient knowledge of the different winding connections, insulation and welding/soldering

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Minimum of two years of experience specifically in rewinding of AC/DC electric motor stators, both random and for coil, armatures, and field frames
  • Highly motivated self-performer with good organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work well in team work

1. PLUMBER (2-POSTS)

JOB DESCRIPTION – PLUMBER

  • Maintain and repairs general plumbing components to include toilets, urinals, faucets, hose bibs and drains.
  • Install, repair or replaces domestic hot and cold water piping systems.
  • Repairs and replaces domestic hot water heaters.
  • Repairs and replaces pneumatic steam valves, radiator valves, traps, steam and condensate pipes.
  • Repairs and replaces industrial sewage pipes/pumps.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as may be assigned by Management. •
  • To report any faults related to plumbing installations to Management.

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Holder of secondary education examination certificate plus Trade Test Level II or Level III in
    PLUMBING or equivalent qualification from recognized training institution.
