About the Job.
JOIN OUR TEAM AS SENIOR TAX ASSOCIATE
RESPONSIBILITY
1. Preparing and submitting tax returns of our client before due dates.
2. Perform tax health check of our client’s tax affairs.
3. Liaising with Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) on behalf of the client on the tax findings
4. Creating tax strategies for clients and advise regularly on the compliance
5. Carrying out detailed computations to calculate Income tax, Deferred tax, and Repatriation tax (in case of Foreign branch)

6. Working with internal and external auditors during reviews and statutory audits to ensure full cooperation from accounting departments and compliance with all qualified requests.
7. Ensuring tax strategies is aligned with business strategy.
8. Conversant with PAYE, SDL, NSSF, WCF, Excise, withholding Tax and VAT reconciliations.
9. To present tax reports, updates, or insights for clients.
10. Examining financial accounts and related documents
11. Dealing with tax insolvency, objection, appeal, and merger cases
Job Vacancy at Mehta
QUALIFICATION
1. At least 2-3 years of experience in tax.
2. Bachelor’s degree in taxation or equivalent tax qualification from a recognized institution.
3. Prior experience in taxation would be an added advantage

4. Self-motivated and capable of working under pressure to meet deadlines
5. Excellent command in English both speaking and writing
6. Excellent in tax laws i.e. Income tax Act, VAT Acts, Tax Administration Acts and many more
7. Commercial awareness
8. Good team player
9. Approach challenges with confidence and optimism
10. Recognize areas of improvement and overcome obstacles
11. Inquisitive and capable of working under minimum supervision.
