Job Opportunities at the National Audit Office of Tanzania (NAOT)
The Office of the President through the Public Service Recruitment Secretariat (PSRS) is pleased to announce a major recruitment exercise for the National Audit Office (NAOT). This recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 142 vacant positions for qualified, skilled, and motivated Tanzanian citizens. The positions advertised are primarily for Auditor Grade II across a wide range of professional specializations, as well as a small number of Information Officer Grade II positions. Auditors will be responsible for participating in audit planning and implementation, reviewing financial records, assessing internal control systems, conducting performance and compliance audits, preparing audit reports, and engaging with audited entities. The roles require high levels of integrity, analytical skills, and professional ethics.
2. Information Officer Grade II – Graphic Design (1 Position)
This position focuses on digital communication and visual content development. The successful candidate will manage NAOT’s digital platforms such as websites and social media, design graphics for audit reports and stakeholder publications, produce and edit photos and videos, and support digital communication campaigns. Applicants must hold a degree in Multimedia Technology or Graphic Design from a recognized institution.
3. Information Officer Grade II – Journalism (1 Position)
This role involves news gathering, writing, photography, publication design, and media documentation. The officer will support internal and external communication activities, manage media archives, and contribute to the production of newsletters, magazines, banners, and other information materials. Eligible candidates must have a degree in Journalism or Mass Communication from a recognized institution.
Qualifications and Professional Requirements
Applicants must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant field from a government-recognized institution. For regulated professions such as engineering, pharmacy, veterinary medicine, architecture, and quantity surveying, applicants must be registered with the respective professional boards (e.g., ERB, PC, VCT, AQRB).
Candidates who studied outside Tanzania must ensure that their academic certificates are verified and approved by the relevant authorities such as TCU, NACTE, or NECTA, as applicable.
Salary and Benefits
Successful candidates will be appointed under the following salary scales:
SAIS E – for most Auditor Grade II positions
TGS D – for Information Officer Grade II positions
