Job Summary:

  • The Fleet Data Analyst will conduct fleet analyses and special studies to implement quality service and operational improvements.
  • S/He will be part of the daily management of the day-to-day runningof a fleet of vehicles. S/he will be part of an established Fleet team responsible for the daily distribution of products for the branch.
  • The candidate will provide professional fleet solutions in support of all operational and sales requirements in the most cost-effective way and is responsible for the entire lifecycle management of the Fleet.
  • S/he will be required to keep track and monitor truck running and maintenance schedules for the internal owned vehicles; and make sure vehicles are ready when required.
  • S/he will also take role in controlling and keeping track of the day-to-day servicing, defects & breakdowns of the externally hired fleet.
  • The Fleet Data Analyst will help manage a team of drivers and manage fueling and filling of accurate data in company systems.


Job Scope:

Primary focus – Branch Distribution Fleet

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the approach to evidence-based asset management, which will help to shape how the branch distribution and PSV fleet should operate in the future;
  • Understanding and analyzing Fleet operational data to create high quality, insightful analytical reports that enable decision making;
  • Contributing to the automation of management information and reporting to make the most efficient use of the data contained in FLEETIO and other company utilized systems;
  • Building and maintaining effective internal relationships with staff and drivers to ensure we deliver solutions on time;
  • Embracing change and striving to deliver continuous improvement;
  • Operating within a complex, fast paced organizational environment and understanding the strategic context surrounding the branch sales dynamics to consider its effect on Fleet management priorities
  • Support the development of analytical processes, tools and techniques to ensure the production of insightful reports that enable decision making, learning and provide assurance.
  • Undertake ad hoc reporting (e.g. extracting data for Senior Management, the Branch Manager, Senior Accounts Officer) and developing regular reports that are increasingly automated and suitable for self-service.
  • Undertake analysis; this will include analyzing diverse structured and unstructured datasets to produce evidence-based conclusions and inform operational decision making
  • Liaising with Maintenance/Vehicle suppliers to ensure quality of service and agreed response / repair times are met.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to existing fleet team personnel.
  • Handle vehicle service, Defect and breakdown requests following company procedures and guidelines, ensuring minimal disruption to sales.
  • Ensuring SLAs are achieved with minimum downtime.
  • Investigate and respond to Queries related to branch logistics.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Educational and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree or Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or related field
  • An excellent written and oral command in Kiswahili and English
  • Possession of general fleet management and supply chain skills
  • Proficient in relevant computer software

Working Conditions:

  • Working station is Dar es salaam – Tanzania
  • The Fleet Data Analyst will be required to work as per East Africa Foods Ltd working conditions in terms of working hours and days and when necessary, employee may be required to work beyond working hours

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities or Required Competencies:

  • Excellent Customer Service Skills.
  • Understanding the causes of risks to delivery of Fleet Services’ objectives, drawing inferences and formulating improvement recommendations using a range of techniques;


  • Using information to review the success of process changes and identifying where organizational learning, audit or inspection is required.
  • Excellent planning, organizational and time management skills.
  • Must recognize the importance of working as part of a team to deliver service and operational performance within a safe working environment.
  • Understanding and manipulating data using appropriate systems such as Excel, Crystal Reports, SQL, Tableau and other Office 365 tools.
  • Using information to model ‘What If’ Scenarios and provide structured recommendations regarding options available.
  • Produce high quality analytical reports that communicate findings in a meaningful way for the intended customer using a range of presentational styles.
