Vacancies at Tanzania Institute of Arbitrators (TIArb). The Tanzania Institute of Arbitrators (TIArb) was officially registered in December 1999 under Certificate of Registration No. 8833 by the Registrar of Societies. Its primary objective is to foster and enable the resolution of commercial disputes within Tanzania. Prior to its inception, the National Construction Council (NCC) had been responsible for handling construction-related disputes exclusively. However, recognizing the need for a broader institutional framework to address commercial disputes beyond construction, the NCC sought guidance from the A.G. Chambers and the Tanganyika Law Society in 1995. Originally focused on construction disputes, the NCC expanded its scope to include all forms of commercial disputes. This led to the formation of a Steering Committee following a brainstorming session convened by the NCC on July 6th, 1995, with the participation of 20 individuals. The mission of TIArb is to promote and facilitate the swift resolution of commercial disputes through arbitration and other alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.
