Announcement: 8,000 Vocational Training Opportunities in Various Fields at VETA – January 2025
The Prime Minister’s Office – Labour, Youth, Employment, and Persons with Disabilities is implementing the National Skills Development Program, aimed at equipping the country’s workforce with the necessary skills and competencies to compete effectively in the job market.
As part of this initiative, the office has entered into agreements with 52 vocational training institutions that are officially registered with the relevant authorities to offer training in various technical fields. These fields include:
- Fashion Design and Tailoring
- Plumbing
- Masonry
- Carpentry
- Welding and Metal Fabrication
- Painting and Sign Writing
- Culinary Arts
- Machinery Parts Manufacturing
- Automotive Mechanics and Machinery Repair
- Domestic and Industrial Electrical Installation
- Automotive Electrical Systems
- Hotel and Tourism Services
- Mineral Cutting
- Metalwork Engineering
This program provides 8,000 training opportunities starting in January 2025. It is designed to empower individuals with hands-on skills that align with labor market demands, enhancing employment and self-employment opportunities.
Approved Training Centers and Fields
The list of government-approved training centers and their respective fields is attached.
Application Period
Applications should be submitted from January 31, 2025, to February 12, 2025, along with the following documents:
- A written application letter for the training program.
- A copy of the birth certificate.
- A copy of the highest academic certificate obtained.
- A national ID or voter’s card (for applicants aged 18 and above).
- A letter of introduction from the local government office (Street/Village government) where the applicant resides.
- Four passport-sized photos (with the applicant’s three names written on the back).
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for this training program, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Primary education or higher for fields such as fashion design and tailoring, plumbing, construction, carpentry, welding and metal fabrication, painting, and sign writing.
- Completion of secondary education (Form Four) or higher for other fields, including machinery parts manufacturing, automotive mechanics, domestic and industrial electrical installation, automotive electrical systems, and solar energy technology.
- Must be a Tanzanian citizen.
- Must be between the ages of 15 and 35.
- Must be in good health.
Special Consideration for People with Disabilities
Young people with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply and will be given priority in the selection process.
Application Submission
Application forms should be collected and submitted at the approved training centers in your respective region.
Selection Process
Only applicants who meet the required qualifications and criteria will be selected for the training.
