Public Service Commission

At the time, the Commission was in charge of managing government servants in accordance with the terms of government Service Commission Act No. 14 of 1986. Its responsibilities included disciplining servants, verifying servants, extending service duration, retirement, promotion, and so on.

1. Physics Teacher Grade III (ZPSG – 08) – 130 POSITIONS

  • Requirements: Must hold a Diploma in Physics Education from a Zanzibar institution approved by the government.

2. Physics Teacher Grade II (ZPSG – 06) – 33 POSITIONS

  • Requirements: Must hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics Education from a Zanzibari university accredited by the government.

3. Biology Teacher Grade II (ZPSG – 06) – 17 POSITIONS

  • The candidate must hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology Education from a Zanzibari university accredited by the government.

4. Biology Teacher Grade III (ZPSG – 08) – 28 POSITIONS

  • Requires a Diploma in Biology Education from a Zanzibari institution approved by the government.

5. Chemistry Teacher Grade II (ZPSG – 06) 16 POSITIONS

  • Requires a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry Education from a Zanzibari institution approved by the government.

6. Chemistry Teacher Grade III (ZPSE – 08) – 76 POSITIONS

  • Must hold a Diploma in Chemistry Education from a Zanzibar institution approved by the government.

 

7. Fine Art Teacher Grade II (ZPSG – 04) – 17 POSITIONS

  • Must hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from a Zanzibari university accredited by the government.

8. Agriculture Teacher Grade II (ZPSG – 06) – 8 POSITIONS

  • Must be a graduate of a Zanzibar institution with government recognition in Agriculture Education with a Bachelor’s degree.

9. Agriculture Teacher Grade III (ZPSE – 08) – 8 POSITIONS

  • Must hold a diploma from a Zanzibar institution accredited by the government in either agricultural education, agricultural production, or integrated farming.
  • A GPA of at least 3.5 is required of applicants who have not studied agriculture education.

10. Home Economy Teacher Grade III (ZPSE – 06) – 23 POSITIONS

  • Requires a diploma in home economics from a Zanzibar institution approved by the government.

11. Assistant Librarian Grade III (ZPSE – 08) – 50 POSITIONS

  • Requires a Diploma in Library Science from a Zanzibari institution approved by the government.

12. Lab Technician Grade III (ZPSE – 08) – 92 POSITIONS

  • Requires a Diploma in Laboratory Technology from a Zanzibari institution approved by the government.

13. ICT Teacher Grade II (ZPSG – 06) – 10 POSITIONS

  • Must be a graduate of a Zanzibar institution with government recognition in ICT education with a bachelor’s degree.

14. Physical Education Teacher Grade II (ZPSG-06) – 3 POSITIONS

  • Must hold a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from a Zanzibari college accredited by the government.

  • Must be a Mechanical Engineering Bachelor’s degree holder from a government approved Zanzibarian college.

  • Must hold a Mechanical Engineering Diploma from a Zanzibar institution approved by the government.

17. Wood Worker and Painting Teacher Grade II (ZPSG-04) – 2 POSTS

  • Must hold a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or woodworking from a Zanzibar institution accredited by the government.

18. Wood Worker and Painting Teacher Grade III (ZPSE-06) – 2 POSTS

  • Requires a diploma in civil engineering or woodworking from a Zanzibar institution accredited by the government.

19. Survey and Architecture Teacher Grade II (ZPSG-04)

  • Requires a diploma in survey or architecture from a Zanzibar institution approved by the government.

20. Civil Engineering Teacher Grade II (ZPSI-02)

  • Must hold a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from a Zanzibar university accredited by the government.

21. Civil Engineering Teacher Grade III (ZPSF-02)

  • Must hold a Diploma in Civil Engineering from a Zanzibar institution approved by the government.

22. Art Teacher Grade II (ZPSG-04) – 50 POSITIONS

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Education with a specialization in Arts (History/English) or (History/French) from a government-recognized institution in Zanzibar.

23. Grade B Art Teacher Grade III (ZPSF-02) – 161 POSITIONS

  • Must have a Diploma in Primary Education with a specialization in Arts from a government-recognized institution in Zanzibar.

24. Grade B Science Teacher Grade III (ZPSF-02) – 303 POSITIONS

  • Requires a diploma in primary education from a Zanzibar institution recognized by the government, specializing in science, or a diploma in information and communication technology (ICT) education.

25. Grade C Teacher Grade III (ZPSD-02) – 362 POSITIONS

  • Requires a Certificate in Teacher Preparation, Grade III A or B, or an equivalent qualification from a Zanzibar institution recognized by the government.

26. Economic Officer Grade II (ZPSG-06)

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Economics.
