Its Construction Started On 12th May 1932 And Was Officially Opened On 28th January 1933 By Mrs E.C.Richard, A District Commissioner For Musoma By That Time.

The Infrastructure Was Improved To The Current Status. At The Moment There Is Very Limited Space For Expansion Of The Hospital, Thus The Regional Secretariat Decided To Start Developing Mwalimu Nyerere Medical Centre At Kwangwa To Become A Regional Referral Hospital For Mara
