PCCB/TAKUKURU, which stands for the Institute for the Prevention and Combating of Corruption, is a public institution that was founded in accordance with the Prevention and Combating of Corruption Law No. 11 of 2007. Following the repeal of Chapter 329 of the legislation for the Prevention of Corruption (TAKURU), which had been updated in 2002, this legislation was created.
This organization was established as a result of the Prevention and Combating of Corruption Bill of 2007, which was approved by the Parliament of the United Republic of Tanzania on April 16, 2007. This legislation, which was signed into law by Mr. Jakaya Kikwete, President of the United Republic of Tanzania, became the Prevention and Combating of Corruption Act on June 11, 2007, and it went into effect on July 1, 2007.
PAKUKURU, which stands for the Institute for the Prevention and Combating of Corruption, is tasked with a number of distinct responsibilities, one of which is the prevention of corruption via the improvement of systems. bringing together stakeholders to develop strategies to execute the recommendations of the PCC to prevent corruption, and monitoring the execution of those plans. All of these activities are carried out in order to accomplish this objective.
