600 Teaching Vacancies at MDAs & LGAs, September 2024

The Ministry of Public Service, in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Local Government Authorities (LGAs), has launched a recruitment initiative to hire 600 teachers for primary and secondary schools across the country. This effort is part of the government’s ongoing strategy to improve the quality of education by addressing the imbalance in the teacher-student ratio, particularly in both urban and rural areas.

Key highlights of the recruitment include a focus on filling vacancies in critical areas such as Science and Mathematics, aligning with the government’s push for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education.

Additionally, there will be a strong emphasis on early childhood education and placing teachers in rural areas where shortages have persisted. Special education will also receive attention, with recruitment efforts aimed at hiring teachers for students with disabilities to promote inclusive education.

Qualified candidates must possess a diploma or degree in Education from a recognized institution and be registered with the Teachers Registration Council. Both fresh graduates and experienced teachers are encouraged to apply by submitting their applications through the official recruitment portal (https://portal.ajira.go.tz) by September 30, 2024.
